@kellye Thanks for the info about Kate DiCamillo and Kathi Appelt. that is amazing. Marla Cilley says she writes her books in 15 minutes a day. I take quite a bit longer than that, but not pushing the word count is really helping. It was nice meeting you at WriteOnCon, too.
@Alyssa I'm glad you found the post helpful. Any way we can encourage each other is great.

Suzanne! I love this idea! I've done NaNo, too, and found benefits to that. I'm still trying different things. But this is cool. By the way, I've heard award-winning authors talk about taking it slow. Kate DiCamillo says she writes two pages a day. Kathi Appelt started with a sentence or two a day years ago when she was busy with kids. (Isn't that amazing?) Consistency, especially when a writer hits an inevitable hard patch, is the way to get a book (and many more) written. Thanks for the thoughts! It was fun meeting you at WriteOnCon. (Still having withdrawal, although none of us--especially the organizers--could live like that all the time.) Back to the real world!
Cheers!

Hi Suzanne, thanks so much for commenting on my blog. I'm so glad you liked How to Cook a Tart. I love this posting of yours. It's great and so true. I think I've stalled on my current book because I haven't done the research. Thanks for reminding me about that important step. all the best, Nina

I had NO idea you were over here! And writing away, too, about all kinds of wonderful writer-ly things. I'm not sure how I qualified, but I so appreciate the shout out. You totally made my night! (And now I have some Suzanne reading to catch up on :-)

I understand the research and I don't mind research, what I hate is when you look and look and can't find exactly what you're looking for.
